<p>A great opportunity exists for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples from around Australia to participate in a 6 week program in Sydney NSW to assist you in preparing to join either the Navy, Army or Air Force.</p>
<p>We are looking for participants who are at least 17 years old and have completed or are willing to complete the Australian Defence Force ‘Your Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) Session”.</p>
<p>If you are eligible for any Centrelink or Abstudy benefits and wanting to join the program your return flights to Sydney, accommodation and meals during the program will be FREE.</p>
<p>This full time program will start on 28th October 2011 in Sydney for 6 weeks with additional learning from home in 2012.</p>

<p>Responsible to the WAMS Board of Directors via the Chief Executive Officer</p>
<h5>JOB SUMMARY</h5>
<ul>
<li>Work with FCPHC Aboriginal      Health Workers to provide an outreach Family Centred Primary Health Care      to Aboriginal people in Goodooga, Pilliga, Gingie and Namoi.</li>
<li>Co-ordinate the      work the of the Medical and Allied Health Care Teams to assist in the      provision of  the Family Centred Primary      Health Care to those outlying areas  covered by this program.</li>
<li>Lead a      multi-disciplinary team in the provision of high quality Family Centred      Primary Health Care to outlying communities.<span id="more-1509"></span></li>
</ul>
<h5>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE</h5>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Registered Nurse      List A</li>
<li>Current NSW      Driver&#8217;s Licence</li>
<li>Experience      providing Primary Health Care across a range of settings</li>
<li>Previous      experience in;</li>
</ul>
<p>- working with Aboriginal communities</p>
<p>- program planning</p>
<p>- good written and oral communication skills</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated      ability to lead a Multi-disciplinary Primary Health Care Outreach Team</li>
</ul>
<h5>DESIRABLE:</h5>
<ul>
<li>Community      health/education/mental health qualifications</li>
<li>Report and      submission writing skills</li>
</ul>
<h4>·      Computer literacy with experience in Works for Windows</h4>
<ul>
<li>Midwifery and/or Early      Childhood Qualification</li>

<li>Maintain confidentiality      and privacy in all matters relating to WAMS at all times</li>
<li>Work with members      of the Family Centred Primary Health Care Team to</li>
</ul>
<p>- assess community needs, resources available and set priorities</p>
<p>- plan, implement and evaluate programs which are designed to meet the     needs of the community</p>
<ul>
<li>Contribute to the      WAMS continuous quality improvement process and ensure that the Family      Centred Primary Health Care service works within this framework at all      times</li>
<li>Maintain      statistics in accordance with WAMS performance indicators</li>
<li>Represent WAMS and      the local community at the national, state regional and local level</li>
<li>Liaise with the      other staff of WAMS to ensure that;</li>
</ul>
<p>- the safety of clients, staff and other users of WAMS is maintained</p>
<p>- resources are used effectively and efficiently</p>
<p>- adequate supplies are maintained</p>
<ul>
<li>Assist the Family      Centred Primary Health Care General Practitioner and Allied Health Care      staff to ensure a high quality of client care is provided to the      communities serviced by this team.</li>
<li>Work with Medical      and Allied Health staff to ensure all Medicare entitlements are claimed by      WAMS.</li>
<li>Ensure that      professional and personal development occurs whilst working with WAMS</li>
<li>Liaise with all      members of the community in the towns serviced by WAMS Family Centred      Primary Health Care Team to ensure that each community receives a high      quality of care</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Maintain accurate      and current documentation of matters concerning clients and WAMS</li>
<li>Work with the      Family Centred Primary Health Care staff WAMS to ensure that;</li>
</ul>
<p>- the safety of clients, staff and other users of WAMS</p>
