Greater Western Area Health Service have advised that the flood waters have increased the risk of snake and spider bite. Please distribute this notice among your networks, to make sure everyone knows what to do if bitten.
Of course, prevention is better than cure, so make sure you minimise risk with appropriate clothing and footwear outdoors, keeping grass and weeds controlled where possible, and being extra careful around long grass and other high risk areas.
