Job Description

The role of the Board of Directors is to manage the organisation within the approved budget and in accordance with the organisation’s stated objectives, policies and procedures as specified in the Policy and Procedures Manual.

Special jobs as Chairperson

  • Ensure regular Board meetings are held and encourage members to attend meetings;
  • Compile an agenda for meetings, prioritise agenda items and if needed set time limits;
  • Lead the meeting through the agenda, keeping discussion relevant and decision making clear and encouraging broad participation;
  • Sign the minutes after they have been confirmed as an accurate record of the previous meeting;
  • Make sure meetings are run in accordance with the constitution;
  • Act as a spokesperson for WAMS
  • Stay in touch with day-to-day happenings in the service through the CEO

What do you like about being part of the WAMS Board

I was active in the birth of the Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service and I am the current chairperson, I am always searching for opportunities by seizing the initiative and by looking outward for innovative ways to improve healthier lifestyles for our people.
